Less than two months...I can't believe it. In 57 days I will be leaving for an experience of a lifetime. It's so surreal. I have a feeling it won't hit me until I start packing, or rather, attempt to pack...goodness knows that'll be an experience itself! (check out the survey on the right). How am I, the soccer mom, supposed to fit 5 months worth of clothes, appliances, and stuff into 2, 50 lb suitcases?! O_o I should start packing now...and part of me is not kidding :P
Being my first entry, I should outline what you can expect from my blog:
- my goal is to update at least once a week
- I will be writing about everything and anything so be prepared for the occasional ramble
- comments are welcomed and very much appreciated it!
...as for pictures, I know I've been horrible about posting them on facebook and getting them to people in the past, which is why I am making it my New Year's resolution to post within one week of an event/experience. I must warn you that my access to the internet will most likely be limited, only because I have to pay for it as I use it. But I do not want to lose touch with home so I will do everything in my power to keep this updated!
Finally, it being Thanksgiving I want to thank you in advance for checking out my blog - while I am stoked for this experience it does not cancel out the feelings of apprehension and sorrow about leaving the comfort of loved ones. I am extremely grateful for God blessing me with the gift of life, my faith, my family, my friends, the Chick Evans Scholarship, this incredible opportunity to study abroad, good health, clean water, and I am also thankful for the beauty of being alive, right here, right now.
